City changes relationship structure with the Khayelitsha Community Trust

Due to changes in law since the formation of the Khayelitsha Community Trust the City and the Trust have agreed to change its legal status. It will no longer be deemed to be a Municipal Entity but will be able to operate independently. The City will however continue its relationship with the Trust to enable it to carry out its responsibilities for development of the Khayelitsha Business District. The City will grant some funding for the 2011/12 financial year subject to the conclusion of a funding agreement. KCT has been operating independently as from 01 July 2011.
